Harborne Long Garden Clearance In Short Time
After the First World War Birmingham Council had a vision that they would build houses with a long back garden which would enable the residents to grow their own fruit and vegetables. No doubt after the horrors of that war it seemed a very sensible idea.
Today not all of those gardens are used as allotments and to be totally honest some have become overgrown. Interestingly particularly since the Covid Pandemic these have proven a perfect location for a home office. Perhaps even better than having an office in your home, one at the bottom of your garden allows you to lock up on an evening and “walk back home”.
In this Harborne garden project which was 300 square metres needed a fresh start and with time as always being in short supply the best option was to get T. Hodgson Plant Hire to come in.
Armed with a mini digger, jack wheel barrow and and skip to remove the rubbish and very weed infested soil.
Once the ground was cleared the next job was to add new topsoil to create a new start. This job took 3 days to strip off the problem material and replace that with new topsoil.
We have a wide range of diggers ranging from micro up to 13 tonnes. Believe it or not the micro diggers can fit through a standard door meaning that if the only access to your back garden is literally through your house it is possible to get a micro digger in.
Why use a micro digger?
One micro digger can do in less than a day what it would take 2 men to do in a week.
They are very productive machines.
Once the ground was cleared it is was time to put some more topsoil back on.
In addition to sorting out the garden the existing wall was freshened up with a row of black engineering bricks to add strength and give it a modern look.
